Milena Velis and Melissa Beatriz Screening Short Film

Milena Velis (ACG '10) and Melissa Beatriz (ACG '12) will be screening their short film, The Engine of My Life, as part of Taller Puertorriqueño's panel "Voices and Images of the Affected" at Taller Puertorriqueño’s Roberto Hernandez Theater (2557 North 5th St) May 14, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Taking its cue from Taller Puertorriqueño’s exhibition, Después de la Frontera, the panel invites community voices to share their immigration experiences coming to the United States and living in Philadelphia. With the artist Michelle Angela Ortiz, Blanca Pacheco of the New Sanctuary Movement, Olvia Vazquez, a youth leader at Juntos and curator Tanya Garcia. The screening of Melissa Beatriz's and Milena Velis' film, El Motor De Mi Vida / The Engine of My Life will precede the discussion.
