Maryam and Misty will will use D.I.Y. techniques, transposing the punk aesthetic of the zine onto the tradition of the political pamphlet utilized by organizations such as the Black Panthers, to create a 20-page zine.  It will be made up of provocative, political, social, and cultural collaged images and text.  It will also include art, short essays, and D.I.Y. healthy green practical tips.  In order to provide an alternative to the dominant text and imagery found in those spaces, the zine will be distributed in a “zine bombing” campaign that targets neighborhood spaces such as corner stores, train stops, vendor literary stands, beauty supply stores, and barber shops.
