Jennifer will create a clear, colorful, and easy-to-use artistic map of Philadelphia’s public transportation system. In the process of creating the map Jennifer hopes to raise up the voices and visions of communities that are often silenced, as well as connect and mobilize segregated Philadelphia communities. Combining elements of cartography, visual art, text, and community story-telling, the map will spread awareness of stories from neighborhoods around the city. Jennifer plans for the map to help people make choices in planning their own journeys through Philadelphia.
