Andrea Ngan
Andrea Ngan cares deeply about building collective power, stewarding collaborative processes, and nurturing intergenerational healing. Her practices take many forms, but she frequently returns to design, strategy, education, politicized somatics, and media art as her primary outlets for experimentation and meaning-making. These practices represent her commitment to building imaginative and pluriversal worlds of possibility. Possibilities that continually challenge inequitable cultural norms and defaults. Andrea initiated Creative Resilience Collective, Creative Resilient Youth, and Design Justice Network’s Philadelphia Node. She currently serves as the Community Co-Design Practice Lead for the PHL Service Design Studio.

Overview
Andrea Ngan and Danita J. Reese will create Land Soft: A reclamation for hard times. This project will encompass a three-part conversation and short zine of practices, drawing from ancestral wisdom, oral histories, and the lives of womxn of color. The project will culminate in a facilitated gathering to support womxn of color in accessing gentler ways to be in relationship with oneself, community, and mother earth. Each conversation will be accompanied by practices rooted in ancestral histories and lived wisdom. Danita and Andrea draw from a personal longing for more tender and reciprocal ways of being in relationship in an increasingly violent and extractive world.
