Kerri Radley reads at the Big Blue Marble

Kerri Radley (ACG '13) and others will be reading at Write, Bind, Share: A Weekend Celebration of Zines.  September 27-28 at the Big Blue Marble in Mt. Airy. Zines, are DIY magazines and can be about anything - lists, letters, true stories, comics, politics, fiction, etc. Because they're easy, fun, and inexpensive to make, they're a great way to showcase passions and explore new interests and ideas.

Saturday, Septemeber 27 at 7:00pm: Reading and Discussion hosted by BBMB's own Sarah Rose.
Featured readers include Anna Melton, Joseph Carlough, Joyce Hatton, Kerri Radley, Maddy Court, and Mike Fern.
Zines are an ever-changing literary form - they can be poetry, prose, fiction, memoir, graphic, comic, tragic, or anything else a writer wants to create. Some of Philly's freshest literary voices are working in the zine community. On Saturday at 7pm, come meet these writers, hear their work, and find out how you can start creating your own zines!

Sunday, September 28 at 12:00pm: Workshop for ages 14+
In this two hour workshop, participants will be making an 8-page mini zine to take home with them. They'll also contribute a page to a longer zine that they'll receive in the mail. Using scissors, glue sticks, clip art, and their wild imaginations, rookie zinesters will have a variety of materials to work with and examples to learn from. Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring paper clippings, drawings, prose, or other writings to use in their zines.

Please preregister by emailing Sarah at outreach@bigbluemarblebooks.com. A sliding scale donation of $5 - $25 will be requested to cover the costs of materials and mailing.
