Join Educators for Consent Culture and Healing Our Work to explore boundaries and consent in our work and lives during COVID-19 through creative expression and collaboration and take part in a community story-telling project with visual artist Julia Terry.
“Your no makes way for your yes. Boundaries create the container within which your yes is authentic. Being able to say no makes yes a choice.” - adrienne maree brown
Saying yes to what truly gives us pleasure is part of practicing and building a consent-based and liberatory future. Connecting to what authentic nos and yeses feel like in our bodies, helps us to understand and assert what we want and don’t want. Sometimes it can be as hard to know where our lines and boundaries are, particularly for people who have experienced trauma, oppression, or have people-pleasing tendencies. In this workshop, we will use storytelling, creative writing, and art to explore the embodied experiences of identifying and claiming our authentic yeses and nos.
By registering for this workshop you are consenting to have creative work included in a collaborative project/zine
Content warning: during this workshop participants will be invited to share personal stories about boundaries and consent. Be aware that some topics can be triggering. We will share guidance on self-care during the workshop.
