Wanda Dickerson

Wanda will organize The Urban Community Sewing and Storytelling Project, which will teach children how to make traditional West African costumes and contemporary outfits reflecting their own identities as urban youth. She will hold 7 classes, one on each day of Kwanzaa, and will feature the clothing and have the children tell their stories at a community event in the beginning of February 2013, which is African American History Month.
