Sophie Dipti Sarkar

Sophie দীপ্তি Sarkar is Bengali, Japanese, and English American artist and organizer based in Lenapehoking (Philadelphia). She makes paintings, hanging mobiles, community workshops, playground billboards, hand-bound books, urban climate plans, and more. She has spent nearly a decade organizing with communities at the intersection of racial healing and ecological justice. She sees her art practice as a continuation of this work, supporting those around her to share their stories, deepen their solidarity, and care for their land, water, and sky kin.
