Overview
Shavon Norris’ project, THE CRONING SESSIONS, will invite elder Black women (60+ years old) and middle-aged Black women (40-60 years old) to explore what it means to age with curiosity, pleasure, and in community. The project will utilize interviews, story circles, and movement explorations within performance-based facilitation workshops that will engage participants in framing and defining beauty, value, and health for themselves and will serve as research for the creation and performance of THE CRONING, a movement and theater piece, which will premiere in 2026.
