Sarah Kim (they/them) is an artist, critic and event organizer. They work towards supporting marginalized voices in the arts and divesting art and art-adjacent spheres from white supremacy. Currently, they are reflecting on ways to merge eco-activism with creative practice. They are from the Los Angeles area and have been living in West Philadelphia since 2014.

Sarah Kim was invited to organize and share their experimental music work at an upcoming show on October, 22, 2022 which features primarily all QPOC performers and musicians such as Ulla Straus, Rat Porridge, Ohyung, and Aléjandra.

This grant will go towards reimbursing performers fairly, paying for costs related to their food and travel, covering supplies related to COVID safety, and supporting show accessibility, with low or no cost admissions.

Sarah will curate a series of events to examine the effects of the textile and fashion industry on the environment. This project will also include workshops to help folks reimagine what they can do with textiles outside cycles of consumption and waste as well as provide a platform for primarily queer folks and people of color who have been working to create garments sustainably and mindfully.
