Saida Agostini

Saida will interview and document how LGBTQ people have created home and chosen family in Guyana, her country of origin, and then use her research material to facilitate a 12-session mixed arts group. This project, intended to initiate a critical dialogue on the meaning of home and family, will engage and encourage LGBTQ youth to explore how they have been isolated from their own biological families or communities of origin due to their gender and/or sexual identities and facilitate a process wherein they can utilize their experiences to create home. The end of the project will culminate in a presentation of their artwork.
