Sage Sankofa is a black non-binary visual artist and educator. They are a Philadelphia based film/digital photographer and creative director who has a passion for photography and documentaries. The purpose of their work is rooted in sharing black stories and black voices in hopes of creating a safer and inclusive space in media for black people.

Through Sage’s 8 year professional track of providing LGBTQ Competency & Racial justice trainings at schools, universities, & conferences, they are motivated and ready to protect and uplift the black queer community. By documenting our experiences the world to see, they will accomplish that.

Sage will create non-binary Blk, a five-part documentary series that will showcase five black dark skin, non-binary individuals. This project will bring awareness to how unique non-binary experiences are and colorism that impacts how non-binary experiences are defined and valued.
