Rhashidah's project will be a part memoir and part informational book sharing her experiences raising an African-American girl with ADHD. She will include interviews with parents/guardians raising children with ADHD, as well as their children. Through her experiences as a mother, she understands the challenges and struggles associated with this condition, and has seen many girls who have gone undiagnosed and untreated, thus worsening ADHD symptoms and other social manifestations. This book will serve as a vehicle for discussion and a tool for organizing and could provide opportunities for healing, education, and community.
