Nicole A. Ayers is a Black American media producer, native to and based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She works primarily in independent film as an educator, screenwriter, and festival curator with a focus on short films. Her latest short “Abyss: The Greatest Proposal Ever” is a candid glimpse into the troubles surrounding a U.S. Army officer’s marriage proposal and his subsequent wild adventures at an inner city bus stop.

Her work aims to create a compassionate and humane society by building bridges between different cultures, promoting an appreciation for the art of filmmaking and inspiring people to become a better version of themselves. When she’s not blogging about movies or consulting filmmakers at The Madlab Post, you’ll most likely find her organizing the Short Film Slam, her year-round tournament style screening series providing emerging and established filmmakers with an international platform to showcase their work.
