Marilyn will produce Wisdom of my Elders, a book that will document the vital and forgotten rituals of acknowledging and honoring one’s ancestors. By studying with Oba Lumi Ogunseye on the importance of the Egun (ancestral spirits) in the Yoruba tradition, Marilyn will compile essential primary resources on these rituals. At the culmination of her project she will present a workshop during Black History Month to teach her community how to commemorate their ancestors through song, drum, and libation ceremonies.
