Overview
Marcy will address the local legacies of slavery and segregation, by offering an after-school music and percussion program for children ages five to eleven in West Philadelphia neighborhoods. By drawing from the folk art of the sekere, a West African percussion instrument, this project will also advance the preservation of this important tradition and practice.
