Kayla Naomi Watkins

Kayla Naomi Watkins is a Philadelphia-based filmmaker from Baltimore. Kayla focuses on the narratives of Black, working class, and femme people. With them, she explores dance, consent, and community support. Kayla has years of experience as a media educator, documentary cinematographer, color correction artist, and producer of several short films. Teaching, filmmaking, and media education are her interruptions of imposed erasure.

Kayla Naomi Watkins will be directing and producing a series of videos focused on consent culture education. The series will include the experience and knowledge of survivors, educators, counselors, parents, and those who actively engage in education around bodily consent. Through these videos, Kayla will document the impact of consent culture education on the youth and aim to alleviate discomfort around the topic.
