Julie Lipson

Julie Lipson is a musician, activist, and board-certified music therapist. They are one half of the duo Ants on a Log, playing socially conscious music for children and other childlike people. In their private practice, Inner Rhythms Music Therapy, Julie serves individuals and groups around Philly, and specializes in working with clients who are exploring the connection between gender and the voice. Julie also serves as Assistant Director at Camp Aranu’tiq, summer camp for trans and non-binary youth. In all of their endeavors, Julie values creative interactive experiences as the way toward communities full of liberation and joy.

Julie Lipson (they/them) is a musician, music therapist, and activist who identifies as queer, nonbinary, and white. They are one-half of Ants on a Log, the Philadelphia-based duo playing socially conscious music for children and other childlike people. In 2020, Julie produced the Trans & Nonbinary Kids Mix, which was featured widely in national media as a milestone in the world of intersectional children’s music.

Julie also produces Practice Your Pronouns, a video series that promotes pronoun fluency and nonbinary visibility by inviting viewers to sing along to well-known songs. During the year, Julie serves as music therapist and consultant at their private practice Inner Rhythms Music Therapy, and during summers, they serve as Assistant Director at a sleep-away camp for trans and nonbinary youth. In all of their endeavors, Julie values creative interactive experiences as the way toward communities full of liberation and joy.
