Memory and experience are themes found in most of Judy Taylor's photographs. The Four Sisters, Four Brides series, for example, includes portaits of the wedding dresses belonging to her mother and her three aunts. Portraits of women of different ages make up the series Girls, Women, Family and explore the experience of growing up female.

Taylor's new work focuses on the concepts surrounding time, ritual and language. Putting her camera aside, she has been experimenting with older photographic processes such as photograms - a direct record on a piece of paper. "There is something in this directness which appeals to me, a physicality, like a fingerprint, like a kiss."
