Erika and Julie will create When I Was 10, an empowering series of animated webcasts aimed at girls and the adults who work with them. They will interview and record the audio of ten-year-old girls about their thoughts on life, growing-up, creativity, and family issues. They will then create a comprehensive story combining animation with the girls' own words. The finished webcasts will capture the essence of ten-year-old girls on the brink of entering adolescence--a time when the "rules" often change and girls' sense of self-esteem can often flounder. This project engages girls to tell their stories freely and to let their imaginations soar.
