Danny
Danny Garland graduated from the Chester Upland School District. She then attended Venus Beauty Academy to aid her in following her dream to make the world beautiful, one woman at a time. She’s a mentor who is always inclined to give herself to those in need. She learned the responsibility of leadership at a very young age while participating in a local afterschool program. Currently, Danny is the owner of MaciLago pro cosmetic company for African American women of all skin tones. She is also one of two visionaries of Beauty and Brains Emanating Sisterhood (B.A.B.E.S), a collaborative effort with organizations, businesses and individuals that are interested in empowering girls to find healing, self-love, and an appreciation for life, focusing on Civic Engagement, Workforce Development, Financial Planning and Literacy, Health and Wellness.

Overview
Danny will design and lead a color theory, colorism and cosmetics creation workshop for dark skinned Black girls ages 12 to 16, in Chester. They will develop a line of lip glosses and nail polishes, and author a written positive statement to accompany the product. They will share the cosmetics with the community at a product launch party. The girls will learn entrepreneurship and self-love through makeup art.
