Dalia O'Gorman

Dalia will develop a theater project, Mexico, Nuestra Historia de Libertad  (Mexico, Our History of Freedom) to be used as a tool to foster social and cultural identity for young Mexican immigrants through theater workshops that explore the typical scenarios of the history of Mexico. A public performance at Jackson Elementary School in May will feature the children who participated in the program. Through this project, Mexican students in the audience will be able to develop a sense of cultural identity, while teachers and students both Latino and non-Latino will be able to acquire knowledge about the Battle of Cinco de Mayo and Mexican Independence.
