Chanté will organize a quarterly concert at The Rotunda called Afropick, featuring socially conscious music with an aggressive edge performed by artists of color. Afropick will provide a showcase for musicians to reach a wide audience, including people of color who are interested in non-mainstream music.  The concert series is unique, the Philadelphia music scene in which these artists would usually play is primarily white male, on stage and in the audience. Afropick aims to even out and open up this music scene, for audiences to see talented musicians of color play aggressive instruments while sending powerful messages. Chanté was inspired to organize Afropick after attending one of the concerts and hopes to inspire other black girls to pick up an electric guitar and make it scream.
