Amir Khadar
Amir Khadar (They/Them) is a visual artist and designer from Minneapolis, based in Philadelphia, working primarily through weaving, beadwork, illustration, sculpture, and digital art. They invoke motifs from West African mythology, biological/environmental systems, and Afro-diasporic adornment traditions to visualize a future/past where lines between people and our environments have not led to dehumanization and environmental decay. Amir intentionally positions their art and design work in social movement spaces where it is central in creating a visual language for liberatory initiatives and agendas around racial, gender, and climate justice.
