Amanda’s project, XWHY, is a weekend event that includes an art exhibition as well as a fiber and drag workshop. The exhibition will feature gender non-conforming lingerie and reinterpretations of drag, while the workshops will engage queer folk in a creative process to redefine the visual expression of gender identity. The event seeks to unite the young artist community and the Philadelphia LGBT Community. Amanda hopes her audience will not only create a dialogue revolving around the normative public perception of gender, but also be impacted on a personal level.
