Adrienne will write Harvesting Gold, a feature-length screenplay set in South Carolina during the period of American slavery. Her epic story about an enslaved woman who is the protagonist and central focus in the film, will offer a dignified and culturally accurate perspective. Hoping to shift the mythology of romanticized plantation life, she will show how in the face of unimaginable brutality and terror, a people fought to maintain hope and were able to cultivate a rich culture that has profoundly influenced the collective American culture.
