Zanele Muholi and the Women's Mobile Museum at PAFA

Zanele Muholi & the Women’s Mobile Museum is one of the culminating exhibitions of a yearlong paid media arts apprenticeship connecting acclaimed photographer Zanele Muholi and the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center with ten Philadelphia women. The apprenticeship is designed for women who are interested in media arts and museum studies but have not had access to higher education or professional training. Fostering access to education in photography, video, visual literacy, graphic and museum design, public speaking, and art history, Muholi and her collaborators ask, “Whose portraits are shown in museums?” and “Who is art for?”

The Women's Mobile Museum exhibition will be on view from December 22, 2018 through March 30, 2019.
