Women In Reentry Take on Philadelphia City Hall

This summer, the women of the People's Paper Coop transformed the ideas, research, and experiences of formerly incarcerated women, allies, and advocates into a report on the state of reentry for women in Philadelphia, which was released as part of Philadelphia's Commission for Women annual report. The 2018 report details the progress made by the city to address their priorities of economic empowerment and reducing violence against women.
In honor of this, a gathering was held at City Hall where the women read their collective #WetheWomen poem and each received citations from the city acknowledging their powerful and much needed work, which were presented by Mayor Jim Kenney.
We honor and congratulate Faith Bartley (ACG '15), Courtney Bowles (ACG '16), and all involved!
