SPACES: Artist-In-Residence Now Accepting Applications

The Village of Arts and Humanities is now accepting proposals for cycle two of SPACES: Artist-In-Residence program. One part arts practice, one part social activism, SPACES is a rare opportunity to explore artmaking, relationship building, and emergent strategies within the context of a community-based artist residency. Through this residency, youth and families in North Central Philadelphia collaborate with resident artists to discover how the process of sharing creativity, and engaging in meaningful exchanges of information within a community, can nurture the creation of SPACE—space to create, to dream, to build, and to transform physical landscapes. Applicants must be available to make a full-time commitment to live and work in the housing provided for six months, June 15 through December 15. A $15,000 honorarium will be awarded. More information and application materials can be found here. Statement of Intent Deadline: February 2.
