Shaily Dadiala Performs as Part of Philly Asian Histories

Shaily Dadiala Performs her new solo "My Place is in the Kitchen" as part of the Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists showcase on November 11 at Asian Arts Initiative at 6:00 p.m . In a danced narration, Shaily highlights the story of Jyoti Gupta, a pioneer in the canned South Asian food industry based in Greater Philadelphia. Through the gestural storytelling of Bharatanatyam, Shaily focuses on the skewed relationship between traditionally feminine chores and societal power positions.
