Scribe Video Center's Summer Street Movies
Scribe Video Center presents Independent films! Live performances! Street Movies! Offering free family-friendly events in our own neighborhoods. Back for its 18th summer, Street Movies! events highlight community voices from across the city. The exciting line-up of animated, documentary, and independent films explore issues of community concern and celebrate cultural histories. Featured performers include renowned poets Sonia Sanchez (LTA '05) and Ursula Rucker (LTA '08, ACG '08), Los Bomberos De la Calle, and the SEAMAAC Hip Hop Heritage B-Boy Crew. Street Movies! is a free, year-round screening series for audiences of all ages that tours neighborhoods around the Philadelphia region, bringing a program of independent film from around the world to local parks, lots, playgrounds, and community spaces. Each screening is hosted by a community organization and followed by a moderated discussion about the topics raised in the films. It’s a great way to see films, talk about community issues and meet your neighbors. Stay tuned for a complete listing of events and films!
