Join us and Youth Art & Self-empowerment Project for a workshop that examines and challenges perceptions of safety, policing, and prisons. Participants will view and discuss artwork created by incarcerated youth and explore questions such as: How do prisons and police impact us? Do they make us safer? How do we create safety? Afterwards, participants will get a chance to briefly create and share artwork that envision the life-affirming institutions that could exist instead of prisons and police. ABOLITION NOW! Is on view at Asian Arts Initiative June 21-August 30 | M-F, 10am-6pm. To register for this event and learn more please visit Asian Arts Initiative
