OUR STORIES: Support, Reflection, Truth, and Healing for Filmmakers

Artists from non-dominant identities are suddenly being invited to reflect a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable world through their storytelling. We have witnessed a rapid spike in resources and newly piqued interest in “diverse stories.” But how long will this interest last if the foundation of inequity–the intentional and unintentional imbalance in the distribution of wealth, power, policy influence, and access–remains unchanged? What changes must we make today so that we are no longer waiting to be invited, but are in control of when, where, how and why our stories are told?
