GALAEI Hosts David Acosta Revolutionary Leadership Award and Moves to North Philly

GALAEI is hosting their annual event, the David Acosta Revolutionary Leadership Award on Friday, April 24 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Crane White Space (1427 N 2nd St) to honor queer Latin@ community leaders and organizations. Tickets are $75. To register, click here.

GALAEI is also moving their offices to North Philly in order to be in community with queer latin@s who live there and directly address the high HIV prevalence and other health inequities of that neighborhood. “We have expanded our mission to be intentionally focused on social justice and, in many ways, we are going back to our roots of grassroots organizing. The time is right and imperative to be housed IN community where we will have a greater impact on curbing the HIV epidemic and broader social justice mission,” says executive director, Elicia Gonzales in a press release.
