How can independent documentary media makers continue to fundraise for our films during this pandemic? How do we continue to ask for money in a time where there feels like such an intense need for resources from so many? While no one has an exact answer, in this interactive workshop participants will learn how to adapt best practices in fundraising (both from individuals and foundations), as well as have a chance to share experiences of recent successes and challenges with your peers.

Sara Zia Ebrahimi (LTA '15, ACG '13, '09) will be leading a workshop on fundraising for films during the pandemic as part of the Double Exposure Film Festival online. Double Exposure is the United States' first and only film festival dedicated to investigative reporting on film. It pairs 5 days of film screenings with a professional symposium that brings together journalists and filmmakers using investigative storytelling.
