After hosting their first virtual market in November and raising over $7,000 for Philadelphia community fridges, the Feminist Flea Market & Craft Fair has decided to launch their second online marketplace right in time for Valentine’s Day! From February 1st-7th you can head to www.FeministFlea.com to shop over 60 vendors, many of whom are debuting limited edition items just for Feminist Flea shoppers. As always, the market will be featuring artists who are marginalized by gender, including women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming folks, with priority to makers who are Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). And of course, one of the best parts is you’ll be doing all of your shopping while lounging in your favorite sweats on the couch.

House Cat carefully curates the market to highlight the beautifully diverse identities and works of local artists and businesses. You can expect everything from limited edition candles, handmade jewelry, live plants and felt flower bouquets, vintage clothing, homemade beauty products and much more.

To shop, there’s a $3+ suggested “entry fee”, with 100% of proceeds going to Philadelphia Red Umbrella Alliance (Philly RUA) and Project SAFE’s Philadelphia Sex Worker Relief Fund. For every $3 you give, you can also enter into a raffle bundle of your choosing. Raffle items have been donated by many of the Feminist Flea vendors and 100% of the proceeds will be given to the fund. There are unlimited entries, so increase your odds by entering to win many times in support of community-led mutual aid!

All orders for the duration of the market will also come with free shipping! As we all know, USPS has been having significant delays with packages. Although you may not get your items in time for Valentine’s Day, it’s always most important to be supporting artists and small businesses. So don’t head to Amazon or another store preying on people during this capitalistic holiday, do your shopping locally. If you’re ordering for someone else, just print out a photo of what you ordered and show it to them on Valentine’s Day to let them know what’s coming. Or, buy something for yourself and sit with the excitement while it’s making its way to you, knowing your purchase is supporting a real person in your community.
