Denise Allen's Solo Show Post Ferguson: My Son Matters!

Denise Allen (ACG '14) has a solo show, Post Ferguson: My Son Matters!, on view at the Mount Airy Art Garage (11 W Mt Airy Ave) from April 10 to May 31. The exhibition is a series of thirty five portraits of African American single mothers and their sons to spotlight both the relationship between mothers and sons and the struggle to raise a Black son in these times as a single mother. The project is a re-envisioning of how we can image Black masculinity. The opening reception is Friday, April 17 at 6:00pm. Free. For more information, click here.
