Center for Emerging Visual Arts presents ArtistSpeak

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists along with Philly Stewards, are pleased to announce the second edition of ArtistSpeak: a new Artist presentation series focused on connecting Philadelphia's Artists and Makers with the public. ArtistSpeak is free and open to all interested in the work being made at present in our city.

Three fantastic Phiadelphia-based sculptors: Darla Jackson, Jeremy Sims and Dave Tavacol, will be discussing their work and taking questions. Tavacol's work explores the relationship between the readymade and luxury, expressing the modes in which presentation influences the perception of "high and low" cultural artifacts. Sims' practice is based in atypical craft, contemporary design and surface development. Jackson, the founder of Fishtown's former Sculpture Gym, makes model and figurative-based work that is steeped in symbolism. Learn more.
