Call for Performance and Workshop Proposals Due March 11

Allied Media Projects is calling for workshop and performance proposals for their Stage to the Street Track, due March 11. This will be a space for those who identify as performers to share performance, explore the historical roots and inspirations of their mediums, exchange best practices across different disciplines, and further expand the realms of our work.

Types of performance they look forward to exploring:

• Stage performance – theater/dance/music used as activism
• Street performance – activism utilizing theatrical elements
• Life performance – versions of ourselves depending on our environment(s)
• Ritual performance – spiritual and cultural rituals for individual and community empowerment

Proposals for performances and workshops that:

• Use performance as a tool for organizing
• Are engaging and participatory
• Focus on fun, joy, comedy, and/or access a full spectrum of emotions
• Tell stories that have traditionally been marginalized
