Bread & Roses Community Fund 2017 Women of Equity Applications Due March 3

Women of Equity is a free of cost, peer leadership-development initiative for women of color. Women of color are holding more leadership positions in nonprofits. Yet, the road to leadership is often difficult to navigate. In the midst of the current national crisis around racial inequality, women of color often take on issues of equity occurring within their organizations. These women are critical forces in the social change puzzle. To be champions for equity and change requires much energy – emotional, physical, intellectual, and relational. In the city of Philadelphia, there are very few supports and capacity building services for women of color leaders who take on this work. Women of Equity is a program of Bread & Roses Community Fund, with support from The Valentine Foundation. The program seeks to create safe space to further invest in women of color leaders in our region.
