BAAD! Presents James Baldwin’s America: A Reading and Discussion Series

BAAD! Presents the final segment of James Baldwin’s America. This five-part reading and discussion series will conclude February 29, 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance! (2474 Westchester Ave)

The series, facilitated by Bronx-based artist Seyi Adebanjo, delves into the work of acclaimed writer and public intellectual James Baldwin who spoke about the tense relationship between America’s democratic ideals and our fraught racial history. Each week explores how Baldwin's readings impacts contemporary issues and movements such as Black Lives Matter, Queerness, gentrification, and police brutality.
Join in conversation about race and American society through Baldwin’s writings and clips of him speaking. 15 Books are provided.
