Asian Arts Initiative Social Practice Lab Call for Artists

Asian Arts Initiative is pleased to invite artists and creative thinkers from all types of disciplines to apply for the third Social Practice Lab cycle, focused on the Pearl Street Project. Artist teams, collectives, or collaborations are welcome to apply, but will receive the same level of resources available to individual artists. All applicants should be interested and available to work in a collaborative community context, and believe in the capacity of art to contribute to equitable social change.

Artists-in-residence are asked to be in residence over a period of three (3) to six (6) months, with a minimum average of 20 hours per week of on-site participation (at Asian Arts Initiative or in the surrounding Chinatown North neighborhood). If invited by the organization, artist(s) may elect to renew/extend their residency at the conclusion of the initial term.

Asian Arts Initiative is an equal opportunity organization. Asian Americans and other people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.

Connecting cultural expression to social change, Asian Arts Initiative uses art as a vehicle to explore the experiences of Asian Americans and the diverse communities of which we are a part.

Deadline: August 12
