What is an invisible disability? Do you have one, the person sitting next to you? The Hidden Disabilities Project will be Power Street Theatre Company’s next foray into experimental theatre making. With this new and exciting piece created by the only Women of Color led theatre company in Philadelphia, take an immersive journey exploring the gray areas of having an invisible disability in a black and white world.

About Gabriela Sanchez
Founder and Executive Producer, Gabriela Sanchez of Power Street Theatre Company (PSTC), has created a multicultural theatre company with fellow artists, producing script readings, open mic events and three powerful world premiere plays for the Philadelphia Fringe Arts Festival.

A Philadelphia native, she graduated from the Creative and Performing Arts High School in Theater and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Temple University. Currently, Gabriela is the Director of Education for Seeds of the Future teen after school program at Norris Square Neighborhood Project. She is honored to be apart of an organization that uplifts youth and community residents with a safe space to engage in cultural, environmental and educational dialogues.

Gabriela was the former Cultural Enrichment and Facility Manager at Taller Puertorriqueño; and for six years she worked for the Department of Recreation with Conflict Resolution Theater as an actress, teaching artist, and manager. She is also a proud participant of the Young Professionals and Youth Council at Philadelphia Young Playwrights. Gabriela is a young professional woman who has a unique blend of knowledge and passion for the theater and Latino community.

As an actress, she has performed with Plays and Players, Inter Act Theatre Company, Painted Bride, Philadelphia Dramatists Center, Philadelphia Young Playwrights and has toured with PSTC to the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Rutgers New Brunswick. Gabriela is proud to be from the City of Brotherly Love, the place where she discovered her LOVE for theatre and community. Gabriela received the Leeway Art and Change Grant in 2016.
