As a photographer, I choose to work on long term documentary projects about people whose lifestyle reflects the customs and traditions of their heritage. Focusing on Philadelphia's neighborhoods, I photograph communities as diverse as the Lubavitch Jews in South Philly and the Latinos in the North Fifth Street Barrio. My aim is to make pictures that reveal the unique character of people from within the cultural context of their environment. I photograph from an emotional point of view, allowing the most expressive moments of an event to unfold in front of my lens.
