ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Lauren is a Chattanooga, TN native. She has been a part of the FELA! production from its Off-Broadway production in 2008, to being a member of the Original Broadway Cast from 2009 to 2011. She also traveled with the show to Nigeria. Her broadcast appearances include: 2011 BET Honors and Angelique Kidjo’s "Move On Up" video featuring John Legend and Bono. She’s appeared on film in Something Whispered starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. Her dance experience includes: Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, Balafon West African Dance Ensemble, Asase Yaa African American Dance Theatre, nathan trice/rituals, and Purelements. She was trained at Alabama School of Fine Arts and Howard University. Her mentors include Mama Kadiatou Conte, Anna and Barry VanCura, Nathan Trice, Ronald K. Brown, Abdel R.
